Description

Engraved octavo. 226 pp., color illustrations, cloth (dust jacket rubbed and slightly bumped in places otherwise in good condition).
Suter intends his book to be understood as a picture book-and in a certain sense, it certainly is. He presents the paintings and drawings of various Swiss artists from 1910 to 1940 under thematic headings such as "Work," "Children," "War," and "Nudes." The result is a beautiful collection, a picture book that will delight the reader. The appendix contains biographies of all the artists featured in the book.
